As the defending champions, the Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team is prepping its sails and crew for the third round of the UIM F1H2O World Championship. Aiming to defend their coveted title, the team is set to compete against world-class competition on France’s picturesque River Saone. The championship, which kicked off earlier this year in Indonesia and China, is moving to Europe for its next two rounds. The series will take place from June 30 to July 2 in the scenic town of Macon, nestled on the banks of the River Saone.

Alongside Abu Dhabi, the UAE is also being represented by the Sharjah Powerboat Team and the Victory Team in this international spectacle. Abu Dhabi’s star team member, Thani Al Qamzi, has been preparing intensively in San Nazarro, Italy, for the Macon round of the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship. His training on a course mirroring the Macon race conditions – similar dimensions and turns – has fueled his optimism.

Al Qamzi is not just aiming for personal glory but is also committed to defending the world team title alongside teammate Shaun Torrente, the reigning world champion. The duo is set to join the administrative staff in Macon on Thursday. Despite facing fierce competition, the team remains hopeful. Torrente currently stands fourth in this year’s championship with 16 points, while Al Qemzi follows in the ninth position with seven points.
